Unlike with pre-orders for The Gaslight Anthem’s previous album, pre-orders for American Slang went rather smoothly. Not even by comparison. I’ve seen pre-orders for smaller bands go rougher and have more issues in terms of availability and demand. Several different distros had exclusive variants of this record, Vinyl Collective, Side One Dummy and No Idea. The pressing info is 500 copies on half black/half green with white splatter which was the VC exclusive, 500 copies on gram half black/half white with green splatter which was the No Idea exclusive, 500 copies on 180 gram half black/half grey which was the Side One Dummy exclusive and an infinite amount on black. The record will be kept in print on black for the time being. There was also a Euro pressing of the album, which was 1,000 copies on green. All copies come with a download card.

I originally wanted the Side One Dummy color, because it was 180 gram and came with a nice silk-screened poster, all for a decent price. But Side One Dummy refused to take paypal and only two major credit cards, both of which I don’t have, while I have the other two major credit cards. So I opted to get the VC exclusive because it was the first one up for sale, and I wanted to guarantee myself a copy.
