This comp was announced out of nowhere and caught a lot of people by surprise. There have been a few Revival Tours, with none prior getting a vinyl release of any material. The tour started last week and these records were put up for order, not pre-order, by Kings Road Merch one week ago today and started shipping the next day. At first many people thought, which resulted in some rage on message boards, that it would only be sold in Europe since the Revival Tour was happening in Europe. A few German distros put the records up for order, but not many would ship them overseas and none would allow a huge group buy, with one such group buy numbering at least 20 records in one order. Later on Epitaph announced they would be selling 250 copies, which was half the pressing, in the U.S. through Kings Road Merch.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, there were 500 copies pressed on “milky clear” vinyl. To my surprise, my copy came with a download code for the tracks appearing on the comp, though I’m not 100% sure if all copies do since there was nothing mentioned about a download code on Kings Road Merch’s order page. There are now black copies being sold on tour in Europe, which someone posted on a message board on October 7. No word on how many copies were pressed on black. There is also a second pressing, which is 2,000 copies on red.

The tour features Brian Fallon of The Gaslight Anthem and The Horrible Crowes, Dan Andriano of Alkaline Trio, Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music and Dave Haus of The Loved Ones. Fallon contributes “Goodnight Irene,” Andriano contributes “Me and Denver,” Ragan contributes “Bedroll Lullaby” and Haus contributes “Pray For Tucson.”
