The No Alternative compilation was pressed on vinyl for the first time as a 20th anniversary edition and was released on Record Store day 2013. The AIDS benefit comp features 21 tracks from Nirvana, Beastie Boys and Soundgarden amongst many others. The Nirvana track is a hidden track, as it’s not mentioned in the track listing on the back of the jacket or on the center label of the d-side. It is in fact on the, the sixth and final track side D. The Nirvana song, was also not mentioned on some copies of the CD version when it was first released back in 1993. Another important thing to note is that the song is improperly titled, as it’s listed as “Verse Chorus Verse” but is actually the song “Sappy.” Up until 2004 when the With The Lights Out collection was released “Sappy” was only released on the No Alternative comp.

There were 3,000 copies pressed, all on black vinyl, with each copy being individually numbered in gold foil stamping on the back of the jacket. The comp was pressed as a double LP and comes housed in a gatefold jacket. When this comp was first released there were two different version of the cover art,  the main cover of a little boy and an alternative cover of a little girl. The vinyl version of the comp comes with the little girl cover, however the little boy cover is used for the dust sleeve of the first LP, although the color is changed to green.
