Led Zeppelin – Dazed And Confused

Posted: June 30, 2015 in Vinyl

This is a Led Zeppelin bootleg released in 2012 entitled Dazed And Confused. It was pressed on two confirmed colors; blue and red. There is also a cover variant for this, which has a white background with a black silhouette drawing of the band with red lettering. This main version has a black background with an actual photo of the band with white lettering. This version is has no label identification anywhere to be found, while the other version (white jacket) has markings trying to pass it off as an official Atlantic Records release. They even go as far as imitating the Atlantic center labels on the record, but use the wrong color scheme in doing so.

The track listing between the two versions is the same. The songs are taken from the band’s 1969 BBC Session, and is 10 tracks long. Tracks 1-3 on the A-side and the entire B-side are from the show Top Gear. Tracks 4-6 on the A-side are from the show Tasty Pop Sundae. Here is the track listing:

Side A:

  1. You Shook Me
  2. I Can’t Quit You Baby
  3. Dazed & Confused
  4. Communication Breakdown
  5. The Girl I Love
  6. Somethin’ Else

Side B:

  1. What Is And What Should Never Be
  2. Communication Breakdown
  3. Travelling Riverside Blues
  4. Whole Lotta Love

Tracks 1-3 on the A-side sound fantastic. It rivals legit pressings of studio albums, let alone legit releases of live albums. Those tracks are probably from the sound board, and they are all from the same BBC Session, which also helps. The rest of the A-side does not sound anywhere close as good as the first three songs. Out of all the songs on this boot, tracks 4-6 on the A-side are the worst sounding.
